About The Bridge Help Centre

A social enterprise for child and youth development in Nigeria, equipping children and young people to thrive academically, psychologically, socially, and personally.

Our Story

For more than 16 years, our Director, Mrs. Amarachi Ikonne, has sat with teenagers and young adults in classrooms, counselling rooms and communities in Umuahia. Again and again, she met young people who were bright, curious and full of promise, yet carrying far more than any child should.

Some came from broken homes and had no one to talk to. Some sat in crowded classrooms without the teaching or support they needed to keep up. Others were already being pulled towards drugs, cultism, internet fraud, early pregnancy, or simply giving up on school. It was never a lack of intelligence holding them back. It was a lack of guidance, at the very moment they needed it most.

That burden stayed with her, and it became a vision: to reach young people early, while they are still young, and walk with them until they find their focus and direction in life. The Bridge Help Centre was born from that vision in Umuahia, to be a bridge between where a young person is today and who they can become.

What began in Umuahia has grown beyond it, and we have already reached more than 1,000 young people in schools and communities. We are only getting started. Our hope is to reach many more young people across Nigeria, so that no child with a bright mind is left to find their way alone.

Our Vision

To be a leading organization dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of children, adolescents, and young people, helping them grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
